Los Ruiles National Reserve.

Located 29 kilometers southwest of Cauquenes.

It covers an area of 45 hectares.

Its main objective is to protect the Ruil, a tree in danger of extinction that grows naturally only in small sectors of the coast of this region of the world.

It has picnick sites in perfect harmony with nature and footpaths figured out for watching in detail the great variety of existing native flora.

The Queules National Reserve.

Located 71 kilometers west of Cauquenes.

It has an area of 148 hectares.

The flora of the area is of great floristic diversity. The entire surface is covered by woody vegetation and great size trees; mainly the Queule and the Pitao trees, both species considered in danger of disappearance.

It has a shelter located at the entrance of the unit. It does not have picnicking facilities.

Rio de los Cipreses National Reserve.

This National Reserve is managed by CONAF.

It represents the mountain range ecosystem typical of the Andean Mesomorphic zone, being found aborigine species of wild flora and fauna.

The access to the Reserve is trough the El Cobre highway.

The Cipreses rivers have an audiovisual unit and a room of natural resources.

There are picnicking and camping sites 6 kilometers away from the Administration office.

Laguna del Laja National Park.

Located 210 kilometers southeast of Concepcion.

It has an extensive area of 11.600 hectares.

In the Park is possible to found some unique flora and fauna species in the middle of a pre mountain range landscape with waterfalls, a volcano, rivers, lagoons and a lookers-out.

Among the most important attractions are the Chilcas and Torbellino waterfalls; both are at the beginning of Laja river.

The rivers of this zone are apt for salmon fishing. And the BioBio river for sporting descents and adventure for its numerous rapids. Also Sierra Velluda is outstanding.

Ralco Natural Reserve.

Located 114 kilometers east of Santa Barbara and 71 kilometers away from the population of Ralco.

It has an area of 10.000 hectares, all of them with a diversity of native vegetation and fauna species.

Towards the interior of the reserve there are footpaths of 30 kilometers to know among other points of interest: La Mula Lagoon, Quillaicahue Valley and the Ralco River.

Vicente Perez Rosales National Park.

Located 56 kilometers northeast of Puerto Varas.

It covers an area of 253.780 hectares with a varied landscape of woods, lakes; rivers, waterfalls and snow capped peaks.

Among the landscapes are outstanding: Petrohue Waterfall, Osorno Volcano, Todos los Santos Lake, Cayutue Valley, Tronador Volcano and Puntiagudo River.

Its climate is mild humid.

It presents a fauna with a variety of Chilean mammals and marsupials. Birds and fishes of exotic species.

The management seat of the area is located in Petrohue, with park guarding offices in Petrohue and Peulla, and it has an information booth in the access to Petrohue Falls.

It has camping and food on the road eating sites. Also it has excursion footpaths.

Puyehue National Park.

Located 80 kilometers southeast of Osorno.

It is an ecosystem compound by Puyehue, Rupango Lakes and part of Llanquihue Lake, besides the watershed of Gol Gol river.

The hydrographic system allows the existence of all sorts of waterfalls, rivers, lagoons, esteros and volcanoes.

Antillanca Volcano: Located 98 kilometers away from Osorno. It has an altitude of 1.990 m.a.s.l . On its sides are the skiing fields, Antillanca. It has a wide view of the valley and nearby peaks.

One does the ascension by the same road by which one reaches Agua Calientes (20 kilometers away from this site). Then on reaching the shelter, one goes on toward the crater (an ancient volcano), from where one can appreciate the Tronador, Puntiagudo, Osorno volcanoes as far as the Puyehue Lake.

Chiloe National Park.

Located 66 kilometers southwest of Castro.

It has humid mild of ocean type of climate. Among its vegetation species the evergreen type (the luma, the arrayan and the olivillo) are outstanding. And among the animals species are the pudu or Chilean deer, the chilote fox, the sea otter, the common wolf and a great variety of birds.

Points of Interest:

The Huelde Lake, the coastline route to Anay River and the ascension to Los Alerzales, they offer views of interest where multiple activities can be performed also.

Sport fishing can be practiced, excursions, boat sails, horseback riding, watching of flora and fauna, landscape watching and photography.

There are approximately 10 footpaths for excursion that allow to know the points of major interest of the park.

Alerce Andino National Park.

It is located 47 kilometers southeast of Puerto Montt in the mountainous zone of Chapo Lake. The climate is humid - mild.

It has an extensive area of 39.255 hectares.

The presence of deep valleys of steep slopes almost vertical is outstanding. It has more than fifty middle and small lagoons.

This park has two access for entrance:
Puerto Montt - Correntoso - Chapo Lake
Puerto Montt - Lenca - Valley of Chaicas river

It has three offices for park guarding, two picnicking sites and two on the road food eating sites. Also, it has six main excursion footpaths and three shelters.

The visiting of the park is recommended preferably between the months of December and March.

Queulat National Park.

It is located 220 kilometers south of Chaiten.

Formed in a great part by the Patagonian Andean Mountain range with a predominance of the evergreen woods, among lakes, rivers and lagoons.

An abundance of birds and coastal fauna, among others a variety of ducks, coipo, ostriches, swans, and so on.

Among the most beautiful scenic sites one can mention Vestiquero Colgante and Tempanos Lagoon. Risopatron Lake. Queulat Seno. Padre Garcia Fall. Porler Queulat. Condor fall and Stone of the Cat.

There are other private camping sites in the Seno Vestiquero Country State and in the Risopatron Lake.

The excursions can be initiated from the Vestiquero Development Area approximately along 2 kilometers passing by a footbridge over Vestiquero river one can reach Tempano lagoon coast and to the base of Vestiquero Colgante.

In summer boat sailing are taken on Rosselot Lake and Tempano Lagoon.
