Mapuche Territory Circuit-Tour
35 kilometers circuit-tour from Temuco. Start the tour on the road to Mollulco.
After 4 kilometers you will see a Mapuche reservoir, community property of a family
clan. They are small pieces of land connected to each other until the end of the tour.
The ground is flat with hardly growing grass. It has no divisions, except some rows
of bushes that enclose the wheat fields. You can see cows and sheep, kept by
stillstanding shepherds called "Livingfences" (a labor for the men of the family).
On the way you can see cementeries and crops.
The road continues to Molluco. A small community town. There it turns to the left
to Estación Labranza, from where you can take the paved route back to Temuco.
Recommendations: Minimize the cultural impact of your visit. Respect the local
history and values and ask for permission to take pictures. Behave well with the
local inhabitants.
