Plains of Maipo
Great plains irrigated by the river Maipo. During the colony, these lands were
semi-dessertic. In the 18th century the San Carlos canal was built; due to the Jessuits.
Due to the construction of other cannals the valley was turned into an agricultural garden.
The place where the grapevines of Maipo are from.
It has modern hotels and restaurants.

Laguna de Aculeo - Lagoon
A summer camp characterized by nautical activities and sports: ski, sailing and fishing.
The lagoon is divided in two: the southern shore and the northern shore. The latter one is
characterized by having several clubs, restaurants, hotels. Besides, it has facilities for
nautical sports.
Rancagua Valley
Plains that strech to the south of Angostura del Paine. It is a purely agricultural
zone.
Rancagua,
Capital of the region Libertador Bernardo O`Higgins.
It was home to the Picunches indians and, later, to the Incas.
Site Attractions:
Ski center Chapa Verde. Located at 145 kilometers from Santiago de Chile and at
60 kilometers from Rancagua.
Hotel Termas de Cauquenes. Located at an altitude of 766 m.a.s.l. It is known for
its medicinal waters that spring at 48º appropriate for the tratment of diseases.

Valley of Cachapoal
It is located south of the Rancagua valley, and it is considered the cradle and
seat of the purest chilean "huasa" tradition. These lands were the home of a numorous
aborigen population.
Huge works of water cannals for irrigation were built in the 2nd half of the 19th century.
The most famous is the Larmahue cannal, south from Cochapoal.
Nowadays the zone is considered a real garden and seat of some big agricultural
companies, among which are: Rosa de Sofruco and Viña Concha y Toro. Besides the towns
Malloa, Peumo, Requinoa and Rengo.
Site Attractions:
Doñihue, an old town where, also, the Incas settled in their expansin to the south.
Due to its excellent climate it is said that in Doñihue the fruits is the creation
of the famous loon weavings. The tradion of the chilean huaso has always been bound to this town.
Lago Rapel. Located at 45 kilometers from Santiago and at 100 m.a.s.l.
A beatiful artificial lake with excellent climate offers the beaty of its landscapes.
It counts with good hotels, camping centers and equipment for nautical sports.
