Basin of Chacabunco

This is a valley which is located to the north of Santiago de Chile between the Andes range and the coast.

It has modern hotels and restaurants.

The main road of the valley, called "el camino de Chile", connects it with the valley of Aconcagua. This was the route used by the Incas in the 15th century, later by the Spanish conquers in the 16th century, and even later by the Liberty Army in the 19th century. There are old ranches in the area.

Tourist Attractions:

La Colina. It is an agricultural town that is located 30 kilometers from Santiago. It is considered an old settlement of the Inca colony whose governor was known as Coliruna. Following the road of the town, you can get to Los Andes.

Termas de Colonia. A place with modern accommodations and restaurants.

Lampa. It is an old town that is located 34 kilometers from Santiago. It is considered a settlement of native ancient people. It was established as the “little of villa” in 1888.

Caleu. An old town known as "pueblo de Indios".

Rio Aconcagua Valley

This valley crosses Chile from the mountain to the sea. It is popular thanks to its grape vines and fertile soil.

When the Spanish arrived, the valley was already populated.

Tourist Attractions:

Los Andes. This city was founded in 1791. It is located at the feet of the Chilean mountain range. It has an altitude of 820 meters above the sea level.

It is situated on the frontier with Mendoza, Argentina. Its highest point is just the frontier (3185 meters above the sea level) which is located 69 kilometers from the city Los Andes and 194 kilometers from the city of Mendoza, Argentina.

Rio Maipo Cajon

It is a mountainous zone of great tourist attractiveness: mountain climbing, horseback riding and hiking.

In order to arrive here, it is possible to take a tour of 180 kilometers from Santiago.

Tourist Attractions:

San Jose de Maipo. This town is located on a plateau, at the riverbank of the Maipo River. It is situated at an altitude of 967 meters above the sea level.

Sky Center Lagunillas. It is located 67 kilometers from Santiago.

Cerro Mirador del Morado (view point). It is located at the bottom of the Maipo basin, on the Volcán River. Here, it is possible to practice climbing and hiking.

Los Valdés Mountain Center. A mountainous center where you can practice trekking, horseback riding and climbing.

Alfaltal Park. It is located at the basin of the Colorado River. In order to arrive here, it is possible to take a tour of 130 kilometers from Santiago.
