Tourism in General Carrera Lake

Distance: 14 Kilometers away from Chile Chico

The General Carrera Lake is located 280 kilometers from the city of Coihaique (98 kilometers paved).

This is a deep blue lake with a unique landscape.

The shore close to Argentina is flat (it is the beginning of the Pampa that goes to the Atlantic).

In Chile Chico and Puerto Ibañea, the Chilean part, the mountains present round forms, without vegetation, as a result of the glaciers erosion.

The Chilean side takes the name already mentioned; the side of Argentina keeps                           the name of Buenos Aires Lake. In the surroundings of the lake, the towns of Puerto Mirta and Tranquilo River are situated.
