Penco and Lirquén. Two towns that make up one city and are separated by a
hill that leads to different bays, beaches and parts. It is located at 14 kilometers
from Concepcion. Penco was the first city to be founded and is considered the
original city of Concepcion.
Nowadays, Penco is a spa-city with clean beaches and calm waters. Lirquén is a
main part of wood loading.
Is is interesting to visit: Fuerte La Planchada. China Town (famous for its sea-food restaurant).
Tome. A town located at 34 kilometers from Concepcion. A part and spa with typical
geography. The town is scattered between hills and a narrow plain.
Isla Santa María. A round- trip organized from the town, Lota. This little
city was famous for its industry and charcoal mines.
Isla Santa María is characterized by steep coast and an even landscapes with
few trees and abundant grass. On the beach, there are attractive places for hiking
and good places for skuba diving and sport fishing. It has simple hostels,
lodges and camping areas.
